WHAT IS MAGIC SALT?
Magic Salt® is a patented liquid treated salt deicer available in granular form.
WHAT IS MAGIC-0 LIQUID?
Magic Minus Zero is a highly effective liquid deicer. Magic-0 is a proprietary formula of magnesium chloride combined with an agricultural by-product of the distilling process (i.e. grain and/or sugar based) and is protected under U.S. patent # 4,676,918. No other liquid ice melter can make this claim. The liquid treatment is a strong deicer used for pretreatment of parking lots and sidewalks prior to a storm event.

HOW IS SALT TREATED?
Magic-0 liquid is mixed into a salt pile at the rate of 6-8 gallons per ton of dry salt using a loader.
HOW IS MAGIC SALT AVAILABLE?
The solid granules are available in bulk for contractors (10 or 25 ton loads), in pallets of 50 or 25 lbs bags. Magic –0 is used for pretreating roadways prior to a storm event, preventing black-ice, and for dust control.
HOW IS IT STORED?
Magic Salt® needs to be stored in dry bags, salt bins or tarped. Magic-0 needs to be stored in food grade plastic drums and totes.
IS IT SAFE?
One of the safest products in the market, Magic Deicers are less corrosive than distilled water! It is environmentally friendly, safer for pets & children than other deicers, safe on concrete and green concrete, landscaping and hardscaping. It is water soluble, so it is easy to clean; and is pet friendly.
WHERE DOES MAGIC SALT COME FROM?
Magic Salt® is made using a patented biodegradable liquid called Magic-0. This sweet smelling liquid is made from a discarded plant product used in making liquor (Distillers Condensed Soluables). That’s right, Magic Salt® is made from the same stuff Vodka is made from, the only thing is, it doesn’t contain alcohol like Vodka does.
Does the sweet smelling Magic-0 attract animals and insects?
No, Magic Salt® and Magic-0 may smell sweet but they both have a very bitter/sour taste, which is highly unpalatable.
Are there any long-term effects?
There no known long-term affects seen when you consider two things. First, by applying Magic Salt® correctly you are going to use almost 50% less than regular salt because it is so much more effective, this essentially reduces the potential for harmful effects by 50% or more. Second, Magic Salt® becomes inactive in the presence of water and becomes active in the presence of snow and ice. Most deicers are active all the time; this is where their destructive effects are more pronounced.
What are the other benefits of Magic Salt?
When applied correctly (that is to say, not over-applied), Magic Salt® will melt snow and ice in temperatures down to –35 degrees, preventing black ice formation on cold days and nights. Not only is it safe around Pets but also around landscaping, hardscaping, asphalt and concrete.
Does it have a residual effect?
Yes! The Magic Salt® in solid granular form dissolves into a liquid brine which has a higher viscosity than water. This brine melts snow and ice. This brine has a stronger staying power on the ground than conventional deicers and continues to work long after other deicers have given up.

IS IT EXPENSIVE?
No, in fact, you will save money by using Magic Salt! It is more effective at lower quantities. It will save you money on time, labor, and equipment, while it reduces downtime, increases productivity, prohibits rust and decreases the slip and fall liability.
